Pak’n Save Glenn Innis, which is located in the suburb of St Johns in Auckland, is one of the oldest bulk food supermarkets in the Foodstuffs North Island stable and has just undergone a complete Refrigeration refit by FONKO. Two new state of art EPTA Trans-critical CO2 refrigeration systems were installed and commissioned by the FONKO refrigeration department. EPTA CO2 systems offer World leading energy efficiency as well as harnessing the benefits of a zero GWP (Global Warming Potential) natural refrigerant.
FONKO completed the project in a record time for Foodstuffs. With this project being the quickest turnaround full retro fit in Foodstuffs history. The challenge to get the store completed and fully operation before the Christmas 2017 December rush was met with an outstanding team effort by the FONKO, led by Stuart MacDonald. With most of the work being completed over nights and weekends the FONKO team earned their much needed rest over the Christmas and New Years period.
The commissioning of Pak’n Save Glen Innis marks the 6th Trans-critical CO2 system installed and commissioned by FONKO in New Zealand over the past 2 years. Two more EPTA systems are currently in transit to be installed in the first quarter 2018.
FONKO was also responsible for all field works and connections to all new cabinets, RDM controller upgrade and mechanical HVAC upgrade.
